2.Eligibility. Subject to the additional restrictions below, the UA Fotocat Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to U.S. residents (excluding residents of Puerto Rico, and the states of New York and Florida) who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees of Tucson Newspapers, the Arizona Daily Star, the Tucson Citizen, the University of Arizona, Gannett Co., Inc., Lee Enterprises, and each of their respective affiliated companies, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter or to win.

3.How To Enter. The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. (M.S.T.) on October 29, 2008 and end at 11:59 p.m. (M.S.T.) on November 29, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”).

Photo entries will be accepted in the following categories – •Wildcat Fans at Arizona Athletics Events – Get the spirit of Wildcat fans enjoying their favorite UA sports teams in competition, club sports events, fans at tailgate parties, and other UA sports locations. No photos of UA collegiate athletes will be accepted.

•Families on UA Campus – Whether it’s a family of two or a large family group, capture the family feeling on the UA campus.

•Students – Campus Life – Students at work or at play, in the dorm, in class or out on the UA Mall – this is what it’s all about.

•Alumni Photographers – Photos can be of any UA subject (unless otherwise restricted). You must be an alumnus of The University of Arizona to enter this category.

•Events on Campus – Commencement, Homecoming, arts and performances, conferences, seminars, lectures, entertainment on the UA Mall, and book signings at UA BookStores, are just a few ways to capture happenings on campus (subject to photography restrictions of the event).

•Campus Scenery – A beautiful campus with trees, greenery and cacti, historic buildings, and the people who enjoy the UA campus give plenty of opportunities to get that classic “UA campus image”.

Internet Entry: Enter by visiting the UAFotoCat Sweepstakes official registration page on the Azstarnet.com website (go.azstarnet.com/uaphotos) and completing all of the required information and following all posted instructions. Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for the purpose of entry tracking. Ad blocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that it doesn’t interfere with processing your entry. Complete the entry form and any other required fields and then submit your entry by clicking on the “SEND” button. By entering, you agree to the terms of these Official Rules and to receive e-mails from Sponsor or those directed by Sponsor. You can opt-out of the receipt of such e-mails by following the directions on the Sweepstakes website or in any email received from Sponsor. You may enter the Sweepstakes as often as you like but only one (1) prize per person. Enter as often as you like provided that multiple entries by means of software generated or other automated processes will be disregarded.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor. In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent. For these purposes, an ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such ISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associated with such ISP account. All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.

4.Winner Selection. One (1) Grand Prize Winner and one (1) First Prize Winner per category will be selected through a first round of voting by the public via the UPickem contest tool, and then via a panel of judges made up of professional photographers from among all eligible entries received to be held on or about December 14, 2008.

5.Prizes and Odds. Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive two (2) UA Basketball tickets (ARV: $400). First Prize: Six (6) First Prize Winners (one per category) will each receive one Wildcat Prize Pack (ARV: $50). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

6.Winner Notification and Acceptance. Winners will be notified on or about January 25, 2009 at the email address provided on winner’s entry form. To claim prize, each winner must personally visit Sponsor’s offices at 4850 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85714 within ten (10) business days after notification (office visits must be between the hours of 8 a.m. (M.S.T.) and 5 p.m. (M.S.T.) weekdays) and a valid photo identification may be required. Winners may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) which must be returned within ten (10) days of date of personal delivery or date of postmark. Failure to sign and return the affidavit or release within ten (10) days, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to a substitute winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor.

7.Photo Submission. By submitting a photo to this contest, entrants agree to grant to the Arizona Daily Star and its successors and assigns the right to publish my name and/or a photo, picture or portrait of me, or that of my minor child or of whom I am guardian, alone or in a group, in advertising and promotion relating to the UAFotoCat Sweepstakes and to reproduce, publicize, broadcast and distribute copies of such advertisements or promotional material. I waive any right to inspect or approve the photographs or content of any such advertising or promotional copy. I also waive, discharge and release [name of unit], its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, successors and assigns, or any person acting under their authority, from any and all rights, claims, causes of action or objections that I may have, or that may subsequently accrue to me, as to any use that may be made of my name, picture, portrait, personality or likeness in the advertising or promotion. I agree and covenant that I will not file suit or authorize anyone else to file suit in connection with any claims that I may have against the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Newspapers, Tucson Citizen, Gannett Co., Inc. and Lee Enterprises or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries, or any of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns arising out of any injury to myself as a result of the Arizona Daily Star's use of my name, picture, portrait, personality or likeness in the advertising or promotion.

If your photo is selected by The University of Arizona for further use, you may choose to provide them with permission for use by completing the copyright agreement attached within these rules. In addition, photos of three or fewer individuals also require the photo release from each person as indicated. You may choose not to grant The University of Arizona permission to use your photo for future use, and declining such does not inhibit, or affect chances of winning the UAFotoCat Sweepstakes.

8.Participation. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, and agree to Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes as solely determined by Sponsor. By participating, entrants agree to have their contact information provided to the Sponsors, but may opt out of having their information shared with any other outside organization. In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.

9.Construction. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.

10.Sponsor. The UAFotoCat Sweepstakes is sponsored by the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Newspapers, the Tucson Citizen, Gannett Co, Inc., Lee Enterprises and The University of Arizona. The decisions of Sponsor regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Sweepstakes shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the Sweepstakes. Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
